Cazic Thule

Cazic Thule is a fun one. His AoEs have a very small range of 45. The trick is we fight him on the hill in the northeast corner of the zone. There’s not much room from an archery range perspective. If you were to get far enough away and remain on the ground, you would run into the problem of the “too far above/below” when you went down the hill.

Enter, tree climbing! It’s time to embrace the tree-hugging part of being a ranger. Levitate and run from the top off the hill straight into one of the nearby trees to the southwest.

After running into your chosen tree, you want to make sure your camera is in first person. Hug that tree and point your camera straight up. Run forward and you will slowly climb on the levitate “up” bobs. You will be able to get to a height that will be level with the hill on which Cazic Thule is engaged.

This is a close up of the Zeal map at the northeast corner of Fear as we are preparing for the pull. Notice my arrow to the southwest away from the main raid group.

This is my view from my perch up against the tree.

Just a couple of rangers waiting to kill The God of Fear from the top of a tree.

This is my actual view when we engage. The other tree textures are blocking my view of the mob, but arrows hit just fine from outside of AoE range, that’s all we want.
